Shear retrofitting with manually made NSM FRP sheets (MMFRP) of RC beams

Abstract This paper presents an experimental study to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed carbon manually made fibre-reinforced polymer (MMFRP) folded sheet for shear strengthening nine RC beams using near-surface mounted (NSM) method, in addition unstrengthened control beam. In laboratory, MMFRP sheets were manufactured. is by folding FRP into appropriate groove widths. Carbon with varying strip amounts, areas and development lengths increase strength rectangular-reinforced concrete (RC) beams. Double, triple quadruple strips intended test enhancement capacity when quantity was just increased without modifying area length. addition, different used analyse length NSM-FRP strips. The advantages beam employing are explored based on findings. comparison beam, double, demonstrate 68%, 59% 74% improvements load-carrying capacity, respectively.
